Chairman of the Committee and Leader of Government Business, Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, assured members and the audience at the approval session that all the nominees are technocrats in their respective disciplines and that he believes they would perform as expected.

Speaking after his approval about the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation being branded as a political institution, DG Joseph Kapuwa said “the corporation needs effective and efficient leadership.” He added that wherever there is effective leadership there would not be claims of politics infesting the public broadcaster.

He promised Members of Parliament that as they have given him the opportunity, he will make sure that effective and efficient leadership is restored at the national broadcaster.

Kapuwa is a respected member of the Sierra Leone Bar Association. He assured the parliamentary committee that he would ensure that all voices have their say, and that the national broadcaster would represent all issues of national interest.
