“I admire the oneness that the people of Koinadugu have exhibited after the award of symbol to candidates. You see both winners and losers interacting and hogging each other as a show of unity,” Pa Foday Mansaray a stakeholder of Wara Wara Chiefdom confided in this medium.

Within the last one month, Momoh Konte and his team were busy crisscrossing the district, engaging stakeholders to consolidate the gains already made. Many people spoken to, commended the executive for the manner in which candidates were awarded the party symbol, stressing that the awarding of symbol was done in the most transparent manner devoid of tribe, religion.

Momoh Konte’s presence in the district in December last year is to consolidate the gains already made by his executive and to reassure the people of the party’s commitment to continue to develop those areas after the elections.

His presence in the district has been described by stakeholders as mop up operation to make sure that the party gets 90% of the total votes in the forthcoming polls.

During his recent tour of the district, Elections Coordinators were appointed at each Chiefdom to help propagate the ideology of the APC and sell the Presidential candidate to ensure landslide victory.

Apart from his personal support to the districts over the years including but not limited to promoting education, judiciary, health and agriculture, Mr. Konte also outlined the successes the APC government has made including construction of township roads, provision of solar street light, ongoing work for the provision of water, construction of the Makakura to Yifin road among others from 2007 to date.

Mr. Konte has vowed to leave no stone unturned or take any chances in his area especially for the pending elections.

He emphasized: “I want to make sure the presence of opposition parties in Koinadugu district is never felt.” He insisted that he wants to ensure Koinadugu becomes the heartbeat of APC.
