Speaking at a dinner held in a celebration marking the one year event, the president said: “It is only one year ago, but I think if we are frank with ourselves, quite a lot have been accomplished. I just want to give you the assurance that things may still be difficult but they were bound to be difficult; and I did not promised I will bring a quick solution to a very difficult problem I inherited. We are going to tackle the economy, issues of governance and social issues. We have tackled quite a lot but because we know that there are difficulties, I will seek your permission, your understanding and will want to inspire you that better days are ahead. Some say the ‘grun dry’, but if people stole one million dollars and you let them all go, the ‘grun mus dry’ now. So, please give us more chance to organize ourselves as you gave the thieves chance to steal.”
