In similar development,
The East End Lions F.C. notes with dismay and disappointment some defamatory reports on social media linking our great Club to the Musa ‘Tombo’ return debacle. The East End Lions F.C. hereby informs the general public that we have not been in contact with Musa Tombo since he left Sierra Leone; we have not had any contact with him regarding his decision to return to Sierra Leone nor have we played any role in this matter.
Our Club has always put the interest of its players first and it is for this reason that we have handled our claim directly with the SLFA ONLY, and we will continue to do so until this issue reaches its logical conclusion.
We invite the SLFA to intervene in this matter at the highest level, which we believe will be in the best interest of the player and for football in Sierra Leone.
The Club wishes to state that it is quite disingenuous on any person or group of persons to concoct conspiracy theories in order to defame the hard earned reputation of East End Lions as a Professional Football Club in and out of Sierra Leone.
The Club will continue to put player welfare as its utmost priority and we hereby crave the indulgence of the general public to exercise restraint at directing the rhetoric against this young man on social media and offer him support, firstly as a Sierra Leonean, and secondly as a young professional footballer.
