The clinic brought together beneficiaries across Sierra Leone. DR Aiah Lebbie, a pediatrics surgeon at the Connaught Hospital said that the tenotomy indicated to correct equinus when the cavus adductus and varus are fully corrected, but ankle dorsiflexion remained less than 10 degrees above neutral, he further explained that certain abduction was adequate for performing the tenotomy at sixty degree, a situation he said will safely bring the foot in to zero to five degrees of dorsiflexion before performing tenotomy.

SLNCP, Head of Programmes, Bindi Saffa said that their organization operates in nonprofit basis, and happened to be  a charity based organization that target curved foot children from one month to two years, ‘’over five hundred children across the nation had benefited from our programme’’ he said.

He called on sierra Leoneans whose children are confronted with similar situation, to make use of their free medical opportunities, so that they their children’s could be freed from the stigma in the society.

SLNCP, Counseling and Outreach Coordinator, Abdel Sama said that many Sierra Leonean are going with the phenomenon that children born deformity as a result of evil power, or accident during pregnancy, which she described as barbaric thought.

She went on to say that some children’s are deformed as a result of dislocation in their mother womb, weathered they are not in the right position in the womb or they are created in such by God. She added that their organization has embarked on this clinic to create awareness on clubfoot across the country.

Beneficiaries from the clinic expressed their gratitude to the organizers of the clinic.

Kadiatu Mansaray, from Makeni said that ‘’when I gave birth to my son and I noticed he had problem with his feet I was really sad but now am grateful to SLNCP for making my whole again”.

‘’I was blaming my wife for the condition of our child I even accused her of   cheating and also denied the baby’’ but am happy to see my child walking up right, Mohamed Turay from waterloo asserted.
