According to Mr. Ansumana, the Ministry during the 66th Annual Conference of WAEC in Banjul, The Gambia pleaded with the international body of WAEC to postpone the Visual Arts Exam to the 7th April, 2018 in order to avoid any disruption to the process.

He further said that the Visual Arts Exam is only offered by two schools in the entire country with about 47 pupils. He added that they have already informed the affected pupils, noting that they have also put mechanisms in place to ensure that they take the exam on 7th April, 2018 at WAEC conference hall.

He however noted that the rest of the timetable remains the same, adding that on 3rd April, 2018 students will be taking the Chemistry Exam. He therefore used the opportunity to appeal to students to remain prepared and focus on their studies.

The Deputy Director of Education Management Information System further informed AYV that the Ministry has screened over 30,000 pupils that are qualified to take the examinations.

In order to ensure that the exams are credible, Mr. Ansumana maintained that they are putting mechanisms in place to curb examination malpractices.

As part of their strategy, he said the Ministry has increased the number of supervisors and invigilators during the exams.
