According to the association the total number of registered voters amounted to 412, while the total votes cast amounted to 258; with 12 void votes.

According to the association their constitution makes provision for a three years periodic election to be held to democratically elect a chairman. In an interview with AYV, the elected Chairman, Mamadi Kallon said he will be working with his contender Michael Ibrahim Sannoh to develop the association. He said one of his priorities is to get an office space for the organization which has been lacking over the years.

The defeated candidate at the Sweissy Jewelers Association election Michael Ibrahim Sannoh conceded and said he is willing to work with the newly-elected chairman. He confirmed that the low voter turnout was due to the Saturday cleaning exercise which led to his defeat. But he expressed optimism that he will win the next election in 2021. This election settles the undemocratic idea of selecting a chairman which some members of the Sweissy Jewelers association had earlier preferred and even practiced.
