Speaking at the launch of the project at the Sierra Lighthouse conference center in Freetown on Tuesday 27th August 2019, Rozzy noted that the Education through Entertainment Project seeks to bridge the gap between entertainment and economic growth through edutainment. She furthered that the rationale of the project is to give back to Society while contributing to rebranding the country at international level. Rozzy mentioned that the project will embark on campaign that will involve activities that includes philanthropic work with young people, especially with women and girls on education and hygiene. The education through entertainment project will also use history as an educative platform to showcase the beauty, diversity and wealth of the country with the launch of the education through entertainment magazine with the aim of promoting tourism. Rozzy who is currently a member of the Kabaka Multimedia Entertainment (KME), has over the years contribute to growth of Sierra Leone Music industry with her melodious voice, exceptional videos, energetic performance and moves.

Pledging their support to the project, the Customer Care Manager of Africell mobile company Kippy Sessay noted that supporting the local entertainment industry has been one of the hug contributions by the company to the country. She furthered that they have been providing technical, advertising and branding support for every major entertainment event hosted in country. She added that their support to Rozzy a brand ambassador of Africell, the Queen of Sierra Leone music and Diva of KME is to demonstrate their commitment to the development of the entertainment industry. Kippy Sesay commended the initiative as importance noting music is the fastest way of propagation a notion and educating the public.

Doing the official launch of the Education through Entertainment project, the General Manager of National Tourist Board Madam Fatmata Abe-Osagie described entertainment as a very important sub-sector of the tourism industry. She furthered noted that Education through Entertainment is designed to portray a positive message in the minds of especially young people. “Most young people today resonate better to this medium of education compared to the stereotyp traditional method” she stressed. She therefore pledges the Ministry of tourism support to such initiative noting is geared toward rebranding the country. The General Manager also used the opportunity to name Rozzy as tourism and cultural ambassador of Sierra Leone.

As part of the Education through Entertainment project, Rozzy will be hosting a life performance on November 16th where the Education through Entertainment Magazine will be launched.
