First accused, Mohamed P. Konneh who was a teacher at the Ansaru Secondary School in the south eastern district town of Kenema and second accused, Sahr Mani also a teacher at the Government Secondary School in Freetown were found wanting by the commission for conspiracy to commit a corruption offence.

The indictment further indicated that the alleged offences committed by the both accused persons negate Section (128) of the Anti Corruption Commission Act N0.12 of 2008 of the laws of Sierra Leone, and that they committed the alleged offences between 12 April 2017  and 15 June 2017 within the jurisdiction of Sierra Leone.

According to Justice Ernest Gooding, he will acquit and discharge the said matter if the commission’s prosecutors fail to attend proceedings on the next adjourned date.

“It is the Anti Corruption Commission that brought charges against the accused persons and if it refuses or renege to prosecute it case against the accused persons, I have no option but to acquit and discharge them,” justice Gooding warned.

Justice Ernest Gooding adjourned the matter to Tuesday 14th November 2017.
