The accused person, Ibrahim Kamara is facing one count charge of Murder, contrary to law. He allegedly murdered Sulaiman Bah at 24 Lower Pipe Line off Wilkinson Road in the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone on 2^nd February 2015.

When the matter came up for hearing before Hon. Justice Monfred Sesay presiding over the High Court of Sierra Leone, on Wednesday 4^th April 2019, the third prosecution witness, Nassif Jaward Sawaneh testified that he is Detective Police Constable 17791 Sawaneh N. attached to the Exhibit Store and Crime Writer’s Office at the Congo Cross Police Division.

He intimated the court that he assumed the position of Exhibit Clerk at the Congo Cross Police Division in November 2018, and inherited one silver colored kitchen knife with blood stain as exhibit in respect of the matter before the court.

According to DPC Nassif Jaward Sawaneh, he then registered the said kitchen knife with blood stain in the exhibit book with serial number: 036-02015, and that he is able to identify the said kitchen knife if shown to him.  

The said kitchen knife with blood stain was then produced in court for identification and for the benefit of the trial process.

Also, the fourth prosecution witness, Detective Sergeant Hassan Kargbo informed the court that he recognized the accused person, Ibrahim Kamara and recalled the incident of 2^nd February 2015.

He further testified that on the day in question, he was on duty at the Congo Cross Police Division, when one Francis Lahai arrested and brought in the accused person and later made a report of Murder.

The witness said that the matter was then assigned to him for further investigation, adding that he and Detective Sergeant Kamara S. visited the scene of crime at 24 Lower Pipe Line, off Wilkinson Road where they discovered one silver colored kitchen knife with blood stain.

He said the silver colored kitchen knife was then taken to the police station as exhibit before it was handed over to the Exhibit Clerk for safe custody.

He concluded that himself and Detective Police Constable Kamara S. finally interviewed the accused person, Ibrahim Kamara and charged him with the offence of Murder, contrary to Law.

The state was represented by Barrister J. A. K Sesay, while the accused person, Ibrahim Kamara was defended by Lawyer Onikeh Spencer-Coker from the Legal Aid Board.

The matter comes up again on Wednesday 17 April this year. The accused person is remanded at the Male Correctional Centre until then.
